Cruising Galveston

For us, living in Texas, Galveston is the obvious choice for cruise embarkation.  It saves on airfare when you are close enough to drive to your departure port.  Galveston is a major cruise port now, and since it is our closest port that is what we typically use for most of out recommendations.  However, anyone who is close enough to drive to a port easily, we recommend that they sail from that port.  Or, if you don't mind the airfare and want a different experience there are similar options at other ports in the US.

Additional Lines to Choose From
and more to come . . .

Disney, and Norwegian currently sail out of Galveston for part of the year, and Margaritiville at Sea recently announced that they will be sending the Beachcomber to Galveston in late 2027.  Additionally Carnival will be sending its newest ship to homeport at Galveston, the Carnival Tropicale, in 2028. There is a lot to choose from and if your dates are flexible, deals to be had.

Alaska

If tropical isn't your thing, or you have already been there and done that, then Alaska may be what you are looking for.  It is a place that is somewhere to be experienced, and seeing it from a cruise ship deck may be the easiest way.  Alaska has grown in popularity the last few years and just about every line has a presence there.  If your aren't sure which to choose . . . we can help with that.
